After receiving a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from MIT, Mint went on to pursue her dreams--to develop the technology that will impact and change lives for the underprivileged in Thailand. Her current projects include co-creating affordable and reliable prosthetic devices, reducing the cost of medical imaging, and providing disruptive and innovative education. She believes that innovation and technology enable people to express their full potential.

Medical Imaging and Modeling of the Lung

Check out a short summary of a part of my PhD work that can revolutionize the field of medical imaging of the lung. I have constructed a model that bridges both central and peripheral, and structural and functional data from the respiratory system. This model can be used to deepen our understanding about lung physiology and help predict the regions in the lung that needs targeted therapy.

SGI's Peace and Antinuclear Exhibit Shown at MIT

In Feb 2011, the SGI-USA student campus group that I founded sponsored a showing of SGI's anti-nuclear exhibition, "From a Culture of Violence to a Culture of Peace: Transforming the Human Spirit" at MIT. Nearly 100 members of the SGI-USA and MIT community, as well as local peace activists, joined the opening ceremony marking the debut of the exhibition. This event was held in order to commemorate MIT's 150th anniversary and the 111th birthday of Josei Toda who profoundly declared against nuclear weapons at the height of the cold war in 1957.

Technology Policy and Politics Forum at MIT

I helped the Thai Student Association at MIT organized and hosted a forum on Thailand's current political concerns and our resolutions. Speakers of the event included, Kraiyos Patrawat, a policy analyst and former scholar at Harvard University, Dr. Santitarn Sathirathai, currently a chief economist at Credit Suisse and former Harvard Kennedy School doctoral student, Mr. Verapat Pariyawong, a former graduate student at Harvard Law School, and me--a humanist and striving to be a political scientist.
